On the assiduous conduit of making the life of its students an epitome of success, DAV Institute of Engineering & Technology, Jalandhar has been setting new precedents for the academic Institutes to follow.Quiet happily I announce that apart from our regular B-TECH and part time M-TECH programme, we have entered the stream of management and started a two year postgraduate MBA programme.DAVIET is one of those few institutions, which have carved out a niche for themselves among the most progressive institutions in the country. It goes without saying that the primary purpose of our institute is to achieve 'Academic Excellence'. I feel that if we can compare well with leading institutions of our state, we will be sufficiently excellent for our primary objective, which is to provide excellent technical education to our students. In addition, it will also provide the foundation to achieve the more worthwhile objectives of our existence which to my mind is to benefit the local community more than anything else. One aspect of 'Academic Excellence' that is not explicit in our vision statement is the criteria of the measurement of excellence - which is quality of faculty and students measured by academic performance and satisfaction of all stakeholders. The Institute has an excellent core faculty, coupled with high profile visiting faculty from the premier institutes/universities of country and from the corporate world. At DAVIET, everyone's mission is to develop all round personality of the students by making them not only excellent professionals but also good persons with understanding and regard for human values and pride in their heritage and culture, a sense of right and wrong and yearning for perfection.DAVIET is spectacularly achieving distinction in cultural, sports, technical and research events. A part from 100%placement and zooming and responsive alumni institution is Adding glory to its accomplishments. Along with winning Inter Zonal Youth Festival for sixth time in a row, we also became instrumental in bagging Gold Medal for PTU in Theatrical events that we shared with Guru Nanak Dev University. In sports we won cross-country championship as well as handball tournament.We are also going for NBA accreditation of our departments and I am quite hopeful that the team will find us excelling in all fields and also this will be our first step towards our aim to achieve a Deemed to be University status. With the aim to cherishingly achieve the autonomous status wherein we can rule the roost the way we want it to be and can ensign the DAV ideology to produce men and women of character.
