As UNESCO in 1999, declared 21st February of every year be celebrated as International Mother Language Day, Accordingly, celebrations are held every year on the date by this Ministry in the name of “MatribhashaDiwas”. The significance of this day is to promote the dissemination of mother language of all and create maximum awareness of linguistic and cultural traditions throughout the world and to inspire solidarity amongst the people speaking many languages. Hon’ble HRM has desired to celebrate the “MatribhashaDiwas” in a grand manner to promote and preserve Mother language. Following this, Essay Writing and Elocution competitions on the topic “MatribhashaDiwas” were conducted in DAVIET, Kabir Nagar, Jalandhar on 17th and 20th February, 2019. Many students enthusiastically participated in these competitions. In Essay writing, Mehak Sharma B.Tech IT-I got 1st position, Jannat Miglani CSE-I, Sukhwinder Singh ME-I and Garima MBA-II got 2nd and 3rd positions respectively. In Elocution, Guneet Kaur, Radhika, Pragati and Yashika Gandhi CSE-II and BHMCT-I got 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions respectively. Principal Dr. Manoj Kumar congratulated the students and encouraged them to participate in such competitions in future also. Dr. Anil Soni (Dean Students Affairs), Jasdeep Johal (Cultural Officer and A.P. Computer Applications), Ravinder Kaur and RashmiSethi (A.P. Applied Sciences) also congratulated the students.
35th AIU National Youth Festival ‘Amity Utsav 2020’ was organized at Amity University from February 3-7, 2020. Neha, a student of B.Tech- Information Technology (6th sem) from DAV Institute of Engg. & Technology, Jalandhar participated in Rangoli and represented IK Gujral Punjab Technical University. She got 2nd position in 35th Inter University National Youth festival and 35th North Zone Inter University too. Before this, she participated in IK Gujral Punjab Technical University youth festivals and got 1st position in Zonal and Inter Zonal youth festival too.

The students of DAV Institute of Engineering & Technology, Jalandhar participated in 36th All India Folk Art Contest, organized by Indian Cultural Association on February 13-15, 2020. The main events in this contest were Folk Song, Marriage Song, DhadiVaar Gayan & Kavishree, Mimicry & Histrionics, Skit, Fancy Dress, Folk Dance (Male) and Folk Dance (Female). Students of DAVIET got 1st position in Dhadi Vaar, Mimicry & Histrionics, Bhangra, Skit, Fancy Dress (Group), 2nd position in Folk Song, Giddha and 3rd position in Marriage Song. Gagandeep Singh was awarded as the best dancer (male), Nishta as the best dancer (female) and Loveleen as the best actress. The performance of the students in various events was creditable and applauded by all. DAVIET got the honor to bag overall trophy in 36th All India Folk Art Contest.
