CAREER PATH FOR STUDENTS
The choice of graduate engineers in ECE has the highest priority in multinational corporations (MNC). The MNC provides tremendous opportunities in sectors such as consumer electronics, health care, computer applications, communication services, entertainment, and multimedia. Apart from this, government sectors such as ISRO, DRDO, railways, and other administrative jobs provide opportunities for graduate engineers in ECE. The IKG PTU engineering course for ECE is an industry-oriented curriculum designed to impart hardware and software skills to empower the graduate engineer with analytical and practical tools. The curriculum is divided into five modules: ICT, software, communication, electronics hardware, and signal processing. The students have the flexibility to choose the above modules to shape their career in their preferred field of interest. The ICT group is for networking. The Software group is for languages such as Java, C#, Python, artificial intelligence, IoT, cloud computing, and various other software tools. The communication group is for students who have an interest in satellite and mobile communications. Whereas Electronics and Hardware is a core group that is focused on VLSI, robotics, circuit design, embedded systems, and other related product design applications. The Department of ECE has the experienced and expertise faculty and staff members to nurture the students in any of the modules with better insight into both theoretical and practical knowledge in their choice of interest. The laboratories are well equipped with modern facilities sponsored by Texas Instruments, EdGate Technologies, Huawei Technologies, and AI labs sponsored by the MHRD, New Delhi. With this modern curriculum, the students will be able to create, design, and innovate various consumer electronics equipment and software applications. Moreover, the flexibility in choosing subjects will offer job opportunities as a network, embedded, software, design engineer, or quality and data analyst. Some of the major career paths in ECE that have culminated in recent years and will provide better opportunities in the near future are:
Embedded Technology
It is a combination of computer Hardware & Software, designed to perform a dedicated function. In some cases, embedded systems are part of a larger system or product, contrast with general purpose computer. It covers the various aspects of the technology which includes Advanced C Programming, Intel 8051 Micro-Controller, Embedded C Programming Using Keil Software, PIC Micro-Controller, Linux Internals, LINUX Device Driver, Vxworks 5.4, 32 Bit ARM Microcontroller.
Computer Networking
In collaboration with CISCO Inc. ECE department is imparting training in the field of computer networking and the Faculty members involved have been trained and certified by CISCO Inc.
VLSI Technology
VLSI Technology is no doubt a part of the present university curriculum but the additional inputs in this area will help the students to groom their practical skills. There are many steps in the VLSI design flow, from design entry, simulation, synthesis, verification, back-end design and post-silicon validation extending up to board design. Students are getting the facility to work with VHDL, Verilog and FPGA based system design which will be extended to Mentor Graphics tools in the near future.
Software Programming
DAVIET is an authorized training partner for Oracle Certified Professional (OCP), through which the students develop their competence in Oracle and Database Management, for better placements in IT sector
Career Path in AI and IoT
The branch of ECE has evolved from analogue (core hardware) to a combination of digital and software tools. The artificial intelligence follows the combination of hardware and software to design the final outcome of the product. For the economic utilisation of power supply, wireless power transfer, the design of electric vehicles, automation of manufacturing industries, and transportation of healthcare devices, ECE will play a major role in designing robotics automation, drones, and humanoids to provide economical transportation and necessary facilities within a speculated period of time.
Career Path as a Networking Engineer
We are in the era of a digitally enabled internet world for the swift movement of data and other related human facilities. For such a speedy transfer of data, security, maintenance, and the building of LAN and WAN networks are required. With the knowledge of the ICT group, the students of ECE will be able to handle network bugs and provide stable communication systems.
Career Path as an Embedded System and VLSI Engineer
The embedded system is a combination of hardware and software to deal with the application, which ranges from consumer electronics such as refrigerators and microwaves to MP3 players, digital cameras, and wristwatches. With the knowledge of electronics and hardware, the students of ECE will be able to provide optimal compatibility of coding (software) with the hardware devices for specific applications.
Career Path as a Quality and Data Analyst
With the software module in the course curriculum, the students of ECE are well equipped with the skills to test and evaluate the end product to meet the demands of business and industry
Career Path as a Research and Development Engineer
To enhance the functionality of existing products and to develop new design, R& D engineer is responsible for developing and re modeling the design. The various organizations such as DRDO, ISRO, ONGC and various other R&D units of MNC’s provide better opportunities to graduate engineer in ECE. Under the flagship of “Make in India”, the electronics market in India is focused to transform India into a digitally empowered nation. With a growth of 51.66%, the export market will zoom from 16 bn to 25 bn dollar in the future. The consumer electronics market will become the fifth largest in the world by the end of 2025. To achieve the futuristic goals, the demand of ECE engineers will increase for sustainable manufacturing units. To meet the requirement of specific set of skills, the traditional curriculum of ECE is transformed to modernized module with five groups. The institute provides the flexibility of choosing their subject of interest to shape the career in the field of electronics and software skills
