Quiz competition is a pursuit of trivial Knowledge, it encourages students to achieve academic excellence and increase their awareness of the world around them. It actually tests student’s retention and accumulation of knowledge in a real life situation. ECE department always believes in the overall development of their students.
To motivate students towards technical knowledge and to check their knowledge of aptitude & current affairs, ECE department organized Quiz competition ‘QUIZUP’ on 06th February, 2018 under the banner of IETE Students’ Forum. Students were quite excited about the event and it received a huge response in the form of 60 entries from the department.
Preliminary round was conducted for the short listing of students. It consisted of aptitude/technical test of 15 questions of 2 marks each. The test had negative marking of 1 mark per wrong answer.12 students were selected on the basis of test for the second round i.e. quiz. These 12 students were allocated teams on the spot through potluck draw. Quiz had 4 rounds viz. Buzzer Round, Rapid Fire Round, GK-Current Affairs Round & Technical Round. Questions not answered by teams were passed to student audience and gifts were given for correct answer. At the end of four rounds, each of the winning team students was awarded with a USB device and certificate of appreciation. Rest of the teams were given certificate of participation. The quiz was organized and coordinated by faculty coordinators Mr. Amit Arora and Ms. Poonam Sethi with the guidance of HOD Dr. Neeru Malhotra (Coodinator IETE).
